Organisms sense and process several pieces of information in the environment so that they can react appropriately. In order to survive, they react to such information by sometimes making dramatic changes in their physiological state.

Our lab is interested in pursuing both experimental and theoretical avenues that provide a quantitative understanding of how cells and organisms make decisions.

The research in our lab is directed towards answering two questions:

   1. How do cells and organisms process signals from their environment to make decisions?

   2. How do the underlying molecular pathways evolve?

To answer these questions we use a combination of computational, theoretical and experimental tools.
